Vergangenheit im Vorgarten examines the shifting meaning of Switzerland’s anti-tank defences as relics within the contemporary landscape. For the exhibition, curated by Sønke Gau, Simon Graf, and Barbara Ruf at Forum Schlossplatz, we designed a newspaper to accompany the show. The publication functions as both exhibition reader and independent object.

Referencing the idea of the Panzersperre as a historical leftover, the newspaper collects research texts, archival material, and artistic positions by Lithic Alliance, Frédéric Dedelley, Anna Froelicher, Gabi Vogt, Florian Wegelin, Barbara Kiener, and Simon Graf. The choice of format reflects the project’s interest in material memory and temporality—a printed, tactile medium designed to be handled, folded, and carried beyond the exhibition space.
